Hello,
everyone
I am
delighted to see the formation of this newsgroup.
I am a graduate student
of Computational Sciences at George Mason
University, Fairfax, VA. I am
interested, among other things, in plasma
processes in accretion flows
around compact objects like AGN/black
holes. I am specifically interested
in applying the theory of nonlinear
Alfven vortices in turbulent plasma
towards proposing a new mechanism
for angular momentum transport in
accretion flows.
I am by
no means an expert in Plasma Phys., although I have a
healthy interest in
it. My mentors are interested in this, but are not
Plasma Physicists
themselves..they are more of the traditional
Theoretical Astrophysics
kind. I wonder if there is someone out there I
could talk to about
nonlinear Alfven vortices and the like, with the
possibility of a
collaboration. I have done a fair amount of literature
survey and am
tolerably conversant with the topic. Looking forward to
receiving some
replies,
Thank you.
