Subject: External Auger
Hi
everyone,
I am doing a calculation on the decay rate of an external
Auger. The problem is as follows. When an Ar ion is scattered off a Na ion in
a crystal of NaCl, an electron in the subshell of the Na ion is excited to the
valence shell. Since the Na ion is
situated in a plasma formed by background electrons, it goes through an
external Auger (with the second electron provided by the background) and decays
to its ground state. Does anyone out
there have the experimental data on this subject? Can external Auger occur for KCl crystal? Please post or email me
(mikejcai@cco.caltech.edu) the related information. Thanx.
Mike
