The La Jolla Summer School `95
"Plasma Physics and Technology" is a large
meeting which will
bring together prominent researchers, advanced undergraduate
and graduate
students, and post doctoral researchers from around the world.
It covers areas of research in plasma
physics and technology.
The School consists of four parts:
* General Sessions
* Tutorial Lectures
* Contributed Papers (two-day event)
* Workshops (one-day events)
General Sessions (Review Talks)
Several review talks will be given covering general problems
concerning
plasma physics community.
Tutorial Lectures
3-5 lectures within each topic will be
presented by internationally
renowned experts in the
field chosen
by the Advisory Board (total of around fifty lectures). They will
be given in ten
sessions. The lectures present updated
tutorial view of the
subject.
They will be distributed to participants in a manuscript form at the
beginning of the School. Each
lecture will include several solved problems to
facilitate understanding
of the subject.
The book,
"La Jolla Summer School '95 Plasma Physics and Technology
(Tutorial
Lectures)" will be published in a few months after the School.
It will incorporate modifications of
the manuscripts as a result of lecturer-
participants discussions.
Contributed
Papers
In addition to tutorial
(invited) papers, contributed papers (to be
presented in one oral and one
poster session) will be selected on the basis
of the one page abstract by
the Scientific Advisory Board. The
abstracts
should be sent or faxed (see address and fax number below) by
June 15, 1995 to:
Secretary, La Jolla International
School of Physics (LJ-ISP)
P.O. Box 2946, La Jolla, CA 92038.
The book,
"La Jolla Summer School '95:
Plasma Physics and Technology
(contributed papers)" will be
published a few months after the School.
It will
contain 4-page papers as an extension of the accepted
abstracts.
Workshops
A
few workshops on selected topics will be offered and run by workshops
coordinators. There is no charge for these
workshops.
Tuition fee (Covers All Program)
A tuition fee of $485 should be paid by
June 15, 1995 to: La Jolla
International School of Physics. It covers admission to all sessions, social
events, the Book of Tutorial Lectures and the Book of Contributed
Papers.
Registration Fee (Tutorial Lectures not Covered)
A preregistration fee of $150 should be
paid by June 15, 1995 to:
La
Jolla International School of Physics.
It covers admission to oral and poster
presentations of
contributed papers, social events, and the Book of Contributed
Papers. After June 15, 1995 registration fee is
$200.
