experimentalist vs theorist~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm wondering whether i should go into theory or
experiment in physics. If
you are
trained as a theorist and you want to become an experimentalist
later on,
what might be of hinderance for this switching? That is if one
is a theorist, what skills would you not have
to become an
experimentalist?
Also, if you are trained (during your ph.d) as an
experimentalist
and want to do theory later on, what skills would you not
have that is
crucial for being a theorist?
in practice how much theoretical work
can experimantalist do on works that
they have done? do experimentalist always look toward the
theorist for
answers? also do
theorists always look toward the experimentalist for
verification of their
theory?
e-mail will be appreciated
thanks
