        With regards to your request for information about plasma-related
conferences or meeetings (on sci.physics.plasma):

        My own field is that of fusion plasmas, and so I am well aware of
some of the upcoming conferences.  The two biggest ones would be:

        Sherwood '97:  Madison, Wisconsin (hosted by UW-Madison)
                Monday April 28th through Wednesday April 30th

                The full name of this meeting is "The Sherwood Fusion Theory
                International Conference", and although it is mostly dedicated
                to theoretical endeavors relating to magnetically confined
                fusion, there are some presentations relating to fundamental
                plasma behavior.

                Abstracts are due on March 4th, 1997

                There are three other (large) meetings that will be held at
                approximately the same time:

                * The Transport Task Force meeting (W Apr 23 - Sat Apr 26)
                * The Numerical Tokamak Turbulence workshop (W 4/30 - Th 5/1)
                * The Nonlinear MHD and Extended-MHD Workshop (W 4/30 - F 5/2)

                There is a Web site:
                http://www.cptc.wisc.edu/sherwood.html

                and if you need more information, contact Jim Callen at:
                callen@engr.wisc.edu

        The American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics (APS-DPP)
        1997 Annual Meeting.

                At this moment, all I know is that this meeting will be held
                in Pittburgh, PA on Monday November 17 through Friday
                November 21.  I'm sure you can find more information at the
                APS website (http://www.aps.org/).
