My father-in-law, a
senior researcher at the Institute of Energy Problems
of Chemical Physics
of the Academy of Sciences of The Russian Federation,
has invented two
devices that the Academy of Sciences can no longer afford
to develop.
Please help me determine any level of interest here in the US
for
developing the devices further.
Emergency Detector for
thermal neutrons
This is a stationary device for the effective
measurement of the flash of
thermal neutrons in the presence of a strong
gamma radiation.
The detector does not require any high voltage
supplement or complex
radiotechnical systems. The range of measurement is
from 10**8 neutrons/cm
sq. to 10**12
neutrons/cm sq. or more.
The detector can be used with any
atomic installation.
Individual neutron Detector
showing Dosimeter
This portable device measures neutrons immediately
after the flash of
neutrons in the presence of any strong
gamma-radiation.
The device is very small and does not require any
electric power. The
range of dose measurement is from 1 ber (bar)
(biological equivalent of 1
roentgen) to 100 or more. The device can be
used by personnel in an atomic
installation or in the military.
