OOPS. I think the plasma mirror idea simply used the transparency of the
plasma to the blue shifted light to reach a transparent region.
Absorption from low frequency, transmission from high. Push it fast
enough into a very bright region between two sources and the selective
characteristics of the mirror would produce an acceleration. I think it
would work, but practically probably not well considering the low
brightness of the existing sources.
