I am currently in possession of cold plasma oven for
which there is little
technical support available. I am attempting to use the oven to attack
a
polished PTFE surface so that the surface will become wetable.
If
you know what i'm talking about here's some detail:
15%N2/75%H2/10%O2 at
300mtorr
3000Watts,70C start to 90-110C finish
To measure the
attack on the PTFE i'm using a 2dm2 PTFE rate panel in the
oven I expect a
weight loss of about 0.0040g. Instead
of seeing a weight
loss i see a weight gain of approximately 0.0040g, even
when there is no
other material deliberately placed in the oven. This gain in weight can be
removed by
gentle washing in water and oven drying, i then see the expected
weight
loss.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone working on a similar project
or
anyone with a constructive comment.
Mike
