Subject: Re: Plasma Quench Technology
Louis,
Thanks
for the lead on M. Bacal's work. I did
a search with Yahoo and Google
search-engines. The latter engine gave 10 pages of "hits". I found two papers
that appeared to be
primarily about H^(-) ion production and H^(-) detection
using probes and
laser photo-detachment:
M. Bacal, C. Michaut, L.I. Elizarov, F. El
Balghiti-Sube. "Basic Processes of
Hydrogen Negative Ion Production
and Destruction in Sources and Beams",
Rev.Sci.Instrum, 1996,
vol.67(3) p.1138-1143.
M.Hamabe, Y.Oka, O.Tsumori, T.Kurdora,
M.Bacal, "Time Resolved Study of the
Negative Ion Density in a Volume
H-Ion Source by Photodetachment",
Rev.Sci.Instrum Rapport PMI 3425
A.G. Nitikin, F.
El Balghiti, M.Bacal, "Comparison of Negative Ion Density
Measurements
by Probes and Photodetachment", Plasma Sources Sci.& Technol.,
No.1, 37 (1996).
I will try
to obtain these and see if there is enough information to proceed
with an
instrument for measuring H^(-) ions in our reactor.
Thanks again

I am particularly interested in your comments about the H(-) ion and
