informations about cristallography
Hello from Quebec,
I
am Ph.d. student at the Plasma Technology Research Centre at the
sherbrooke
university in canada.
Currently, I
work on ultrafine MoSi2 powders .
I try to analyze the structure of this
intermetallic in order to
interpret his behaviors : fragile at low
temperature and ductile at high
temperature. there are two
structures, stable (body centered tetragonal;
C11b; I4mm; Number 139) and
unstable (hexagonal;
C40; P6222; number 180).
I try to find the
co-ordination number, compactness, the length
interatomic, the type of
stacking, the type of bond (covalent,
metal), etc.
are they any
special considerations for the intermetallics ?
which are the factors
which determine the existence and the geometry of
the intermetallic
phases?
can anybody help me?
Thank you.
