Subject: magnetic
flux bundles in plasmas?

In superconductors an applied
magnetic field can filament into discrete
flux bundles, a "fluxoid
lattice." In high beta plasmas the plasma tends
to exclude a magnetic
field. Is there any evidence for a
mixed state
wherein filaments of magnetic field containing plasmas are
intermixed
with regions of nearly field free plasma? Such a system would have
reduced
magnetic confinement.
