Subject:
Question about deformation of arc in an air flow
Organization:
http://groups.google.com/
Hello,
I have a simple
problem about interaction of air flow and spark.
My experiment is
the following :
I have two electrodes (rods of 3 mm diameter) with a gap
of about 1
mm.
A car coil creates a breakdown, but the experiment is
in a transversal
flow of air (speed 12 m/s and atmospheric
pressure).
The air flow induces a deformation of the spark
channel.
My question is the following : is there a relation between
the channel
length and the air speed ? And if so, what is this relation
?
I searched in several books but never found any information on
this
subject.
So if someone could help me....
Thanks
Sebastien
