Discharge lamp operating circuit: a question of novelty?
Organization:
http://groups.google.com/
I'm trying to locate any and all
references that discuss high-pressure
discharge lamp operating circuits
that predate December 1998.
Specifically, a circuit that attempts to
reduce lamp flicker and
increase lamp life by staggering or changing or
gradually increasing
the current voltage in the start of the initial
period.
A good example of what I'm looking for can be found in US
Pat No.
6239556, Figure 3.
This technique of alternating the
current does not seem particularly
novel and I am assuming some of the
experts in the field can point me
in the right direction.
Feel
free to email or post with any questions.
Thank you.
